Our Alimentary Laminated Paper is not a conventional laminated paper, since the beginning of our activity in the market we have always been highly sensitive to the environment and our planet. We do not use plastics, but bioplastics such as CPLA (Crystallized Poly Lactic Acid).
But what is CPLA anyway?
CPLA (crystallized poly lactic acid) which comes from PLA, a polyester taken from corn starch that is the basis for the production of bioplastics. CPLA is a completely harmless derivative, free from chemicals and harmful substances, robust, and capable of withstanding high temperatures.
We have always been concerned about working with petroleum free derived materials, so we decided to apply CPLA to our papers.
Is the CPLA compostable?
"Can recycled paper be in contact with food?"
We have to say that both PLA and CPLA degrade between 3 to 6 months under suitable composting conditions. In industrial composting, the degradation process is fast - in 24 hours.
For our alimentary laminated paper we chose to put a kraft paper base of different grammage and apply a CPLA anti-diffusion barrier so that it can be in direct contact with the food, resulting in a very versatile, fully compostable, recyclable and Eco Friendly paper that can be personalised with water based and oxidising drying alimentary ink.
What is printed alimentary laminated paper used for?
This paper has great versatility, depending on the chosen grammage, but it can be used as alimentary laminated paper for the production of personalised sachets, personalised bags or even the production of a personalised food cone.
We chose to use a kraft paper base and apply the bioplastic, which is completely harmless to the environment and produce our fully personalised laminated alimentary papers.
